Waterlily vs Sony

Finally last weekend the waterlily flower opened, it opens in the morning and reaches full size around midday, after which it starts closing and by around 5 it is fully closed, and opens again next day. Interesting.

Looks totally different in reality

 Less interesting is that my stupid camera seems to not even be able to distinguish the color yellow from white. In all its retarded automatic super enhancement algorithms it cannot even take a simple picture anymore. Nice. The lily flower is very very yellow in its middle, and white around. But the camera translates all that into white, even if I turn off all enhancements and automatic stuff and take a fully manual shot. Good quality my ass.

Vegetables in the garden are getting bigger, and soon I expect to be able to harvest some...

Tora loves the garden

Every morning around 3:30 Tora gets up and start myawling and browling his head off to make sure we know that he wants to go out and have a walk in the garden.
Ignoring him and going back to sleep for the following 2 hours is really an art. Then I put his collar around 5:30 and out he goes for an hour before I have to go to office and take him inside. When I come back from work, if the sun is still shining, I let him out again cause he is going crazy meowing at me. This until it starts getting dark. Weekends is better for him cause he can spend almost all day outside. But still he is just as unhappy the next morning 3:30. Such a spoiled kid.
Before we got the kittens we would leave the door open so he could come and go as he wanted. But with the kittens inside, the doors are kept closed, and I put water and a bit of food out for Tora. If he wants to come in and have a nap, he has to wait for me to notice him. So sometimes he sits there staring in.

When he is not trying to figure a way out to escape from the garden, he strolls around and generally checks the situation, and falls asleep in random places in the garden.

Oh, I noticed that my stupid "smartphone" has decided to fuck up the pictures per default and calls it "supreme auto quality". Basically everything gets darker. Sony knows best. At least now I can change to manual when I want to take picture of my two BLACK KITTENS, so at least something can be distinguished other than the fact that they are black.

Worms and larvae

The mulberry is exploding all of a sudden

I can already pick a handful of ripe mulberries everyday. They are sweet and tasty. The other day though I found lots of very tiny poop on the leafs. Looking under the leafs I found A LOT of hairy larvae eating away...

Just one leaf

I removed all the leafs that were eaten, and killed all the larvae. A week later the tree is doing better than ever. Now that the tree is small I can get rid of the bugs fairly easily. When the tree gets too big, I guess I just let the bugs have their share.
Apropos of nothing, the kabocha and melons in the backyard have started getting really big and crawling all over the place. The second row melons are exception though... they look like they would die any day. And to thing they were all planted from seed the same day.

I was weeding in the backyard and found this huge larvae, which just like any other uninvited guest became a tasty treat for the chickens.

I also found this teeny tiny earthworm which I relocated to the compost.

More frogs appearing and I find them sitting around in the pond. So nice. They are still very tiny though. I hope they soon start chomping the flies and mosquitoes in the garden.

More kittens

Minion has a very interesting face, almost human like eyes and he stares at me and blinks just like a person... difficult to catch it in a picture. So I just upload a picture of Minion's face.

Both kittens now use the cat tree a lot. They both nap in there during day time.

The shelf has perfect size for the two of them

Their sleep positions are so cute so I catch myself snapping hundreds of pictures of them while they sleep. Also, when they sleep I get my chance to clean their eyes, noses and ears. Ha ha ha.
